Your BFF with a camera!
Hi there. I'm the sole owner and photographer of Love Yourself Photography. I am also a wife and mother of two.
In my off time, you can find me drawing with my daughter, playing action figures with my son, or relaxing and catching up on our shows with my husband.
That’s easy, my loving family. My supportive husband, our creative daughter, and our active son are my number one priority. I would not be where I am today without them.
My life goal is simple. I want this world I’m raising my children in to be filled with more love and joy than hate and judgment. I want everyone I meet to know their worth and that they are loved.
When I was about 14 years old my father got into photography and I became his model. I remember him turning our media room into a studio and having photography books about the house. I loved being in front of the camera, but I wanted to learn more. So for my freshman year, I enrolled in Photojournalism. There I learned the basics and fell in love with being behind the camera.
I truly believe that loving yourself is a life-long journey. Some days it will be easy; some not. Recently I have been having a lot of good days. I am more forgiving of myself. I am looking at my body with kinder eyes and using kinder words to describe it. I have more self-love and confidence in myself now than when I was a young 19-year-old girl with a pre-pregnancy body. I know as I grow older and my body continues to change I will have bad days, but I will never neglect myself again.
I chose photography because I can satisfy my creative side while being able to be my own boss and still be active in my children’s lives. Though the more I’ve shot, the more I’ve learned. My “why” now is that I want to use my work as a tool to not only represent but feature, real bodies, not over-airbrushed and photoshopped ones, and to capture important memories.
